Melvin “Mel” Lee Davis, 68, Marion, peacefully passed away in his home at 11:24 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018. He was born in Phlox on January 30, 1950, and was the son of the late Ross and Wilma (Rody) Davis.
Mel’s favorite days were spent playing with model trains, listening to classic country music, and working the fields with local farmers.
He will be missed by his daughter, Christy (fiancé, Rob Eib), Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sons, Scot (Gemia), Fairmount, and Todd (Melissa), Fishers; grandchildren, Devina (Scot), Mia, Chase, and Mason (Todd); mother of his children and lifelong friend, Debbye Davis; and sister, Diane Emerick, Angola.
The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with Mel’s funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Monday, September 24, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Final resting place will be at Simpson Cemetery in West Liberty (Howard County).
