Mary Margaret Casper passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1:02 p.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice, Fort Wayne, IN.
Mary Margaret was born July 9, 1918, in Huntington County, IN, to Fred and Gertrude (Young) Scher. Her parents preceded her in death. Mary Margaret married Harold E. Casper on September 14, 1940, in Huntington, IN. He passed away on June 22, 2005.
Mrs. Casper was a former employee of Our Sunday Visitor, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. She was a member of the Lady Trainman Organization.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Casper, Peru, IN, Jerry A. (Brenda M.)Casper, Gardner, MA; one sister, Anna Mae Lippencott, Huntington, IN; and four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Maurice Scher, Norbert Scher, Paul Scher, F. William Scher, and Bernard J. Scher.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
Visitation will also be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN with Rev. Stephen Colchen presiding.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
