Mary K. Wise

Mary K. Wise was welcomed into the arms of the Lord at 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Born on March 17, 1935, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, Mary was the daughter of Ida and Otis Burke. She married the love of her life, Millard L. ‘Shorty’ Wise, on August 11, 1967, who preceded her in joining the Lord in 1994.

Mary was a dedicated member of Liberty Gospel Mission Church in Amboy, IN, where her voice uplifted many in song. Her unwavering devotion to her faith was paralleled only by the joy she found in the company of her children, grandchildren, and her extended church family. Mary served as the Vice President of the Eastwood Community Committee, where she resided and lovingly prepared coffee daily for all residents, whom she regarded as dear friends.

Mary’s legacy of love and kindness lives on through her family. She is survived by her three sons, Mark Adams (Cheryl), William Wise (Sheri), David Wise; and three daughters, Marjorie Minns (Harold), Gayle Raber (Blane), Stacy Masters (Eric). Her blessings include 15 grandchildren (Steven, Crystal, Christine, Amy, Joshua, Tricia, Heather, Megan, Tiffany, Shane, DJ, Collin, Patrick, Alex, Victoria), 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She leaves behind five siblings, Hazel Brock, Charlene Brown, Delmer Burke, Elmer Burke, and Ronnie Burke. Mary now joins her siblings Nellie, Curtis, Anna Mae, Earl, Bobby, and Flossie in eternal peace.

Mary’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and the boundless love she shared. Her memory will forever be a beacon of light and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
