Mary Jane Mock

Mary Jane Mock, 93, of Peru, passed away at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Golden Living in Kokomo, IN. She was born in Peru on July 3, 1924 the daughter of Floyd E. and Merle Wolf Butler. Mary Jane married James M. Mock in Long Island, NY on February 8, 1944 and he preceded her in on December 17, 2004. Mary Jane was a 1942 graduate of Peru High School and was employed as the head Bookkeeper at the Becker-Mock Insurance Agency until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, the Daughters of Isabella and the Alter & Rosary Society. Mary Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, and she loved her family unconditionally. While her career highlights were many, it was her roll as family matriarch that most will remember her. Surviving are sons James Mock and his wife Linda of Peru, Owen Mock and his wife Ellen of Peru and Robert Mock and his wife Kerry of Peru; a daughter-in-law Jane Mock of Peru; brothers Charles Butler and his wife Betty of Peru and Jerry Butler and his wife Karron of Peru; a sister Martha Graham of Peru; grandchildren Tracy(Matt) Lewis, Kasey (Derek) Peebles, Robin (Jody) Beauchamp, Isaac Mock, Danielle (Lance) Wrisk, Burton Shewman, Jennifer Mock, Mel Mock, Shelly Burton, Marianne Mock, J.D. Mock, Matt Mock, Alan, Mock, Kyle Mock, and Brandon Mock; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, a son Gary, a sister Dorothy Maus, and a great-granddaughter Virginia Lewis. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary Jane Mock will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St., Peru with Fr. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 8:00P.M., Tuesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru. There will be a Prayer Service at 8:00 P.M, Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Miami County Helping Hands.
