Mary Jane Helton

Mary Jane Helton, 52, Silver Lake, Indiana passed away unexpectedly August 3, 2021 at her residence.
Born April 5, 1969 in Goshen, Indiana, Mary was the daughter of Ed Gillespie and Sheryl (Neff) Stabler.
Mary was a graduate of Wawasee High School class of 1987. Less than a year later, Mary married Ellis E.
Helton on March 4, 1988. They were married for twenty-six years before Ellis’s passing on March 15, 2014.
Before her health began to decline, Mary worked for more than fifteen years at RR Donnelley in Warsaw.
Mary enjoyed her time in the sun gardening, then canning everything she grew, and tending to her chickens
and other animals. Mary was a reserved woman, but loved her family and spending time with them, she
always gave the best advice.
The loving memory of Mary Jane Helton will be forever cherished by her mother, Sheryl Stabler, Warsaw,
Indiana; father, Ed Gillespie, Kentucky; two sons, David (Marybeth) Helton, Silver Lake, Indiana and John
(Mary Anne) Helton, Mentone, Indiana; two daughters, Sheila Helton, Argos, Indiana and Crystal Helton,
Warsaw, Indiana; brothers, John (Linda) Gillespie, Larwill, Indiana and Mike Gillespie, Owensville, Kentucky;
sisters, Brenda Grisby, Kendallville, Indiana, Ronnelle (Mickey) Godsey, Syracuse, Indiana, Bonnie Stabler,
Decatur, Indiana and Sally Gillespie, Ewing, Kentucky; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mary
was preceded in death by her husband; step-father, Larry Stabler; and one sister, Dee Crespo.
Family and friends may call Friday, August 7 th , 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401
State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling and Pastor
Terry Bradford will officiate. Burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Myrtle Glen Drive, Silver Lake, Indiana
46982.
