Martin Haskell Herres

Martin Haskell Herres, 75, Marion, passed away in his home at 12:40 p.m. on Christmas Day.  A lifelong resident of Marion, Martin was born on August 31, 1943, in Marion to the late Leonard and Lorrayne (Hunter) Herres.  He married his loving wife, Diana Ebert, on March 18, 1967, and she survives.

Martin was a U.S. Navy veteran and, following his military service, worked at Irving Brothers as a stone crusher.  He was a real outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, and camping.  He was involved in Pow Wows and Rendezvous, and he was also a furrier.

He will be missed by his wife of 51 years, Diana; children, John Herres, Marion, Brian Herres, Germany, and Lorrayne (Greg) Herres-Wise, Marion; grandchildren, Jonathon Herres, Raymond Franks, Ryan Franks, and Samantha Herres; and brothers, Thomas (Betty) Herres, Oakland City, and Terry (Sherree) Herres, Marion.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service for Martin.
