Mark K. Patty

Mark K. Patty, age 59, of Columbia City and previously of Fort Wayne, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11:41 am at Parkview Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  He graduated from Snider High School in 1977 and played basketball at IPFW. He was a truck driver for Nabisco for 37 years, and was an avid IU Basketball and Chicago Bear Football fan. He enjoyed traveling to Manistee, MI, Estes Park, CO, Yellowstone National Park, the Smoky Mountain National Park and the Tetons, loved bird watching especially cardinals and spent 30 minutes of scripture reading and memorizing a verse every day. He was a devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandpa.

 

 

Mark was born January 22, 1959, in Fort Wayne, the son of Bill and Nancy (Showalter) Patty. On November 12, 1983 he married the love of his life Jenny Alvey in Fort Wayne and was married 34 years.  She survives in Columbia City.  Also surviving are 5 children John (Angie) Patty of Fort Wayne, Ben Patty of Fort Wayne, Rachel (Shawn) Cole of Fort Wayne, Sarah Patty of Huntington and Daniel Patty of Fort Wayne, 7 grandchildren Caleb, Lucas and Zachary Patty, Calista, Katen, and Halle Cole and Eli Patty, a brother Mike (Beth) Patty of South Bend, 2 sisters Jenni Zurcher of Nappanee and Jill (Mark) DeWitt of New Paris, aunt Barb Waltemath of Goshen and step-mother Kathi Patty of Goshen.

 

 

Visitation will be held Friday October 26 from 10-11 am preceding the 11:00 am memorial service at Wallen Baptist Church, 1001 W. Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne. Pastor John Suciu will officiate.

 

 

Preferred memorials are to Wallen Baptist Church or Safe Families for Children  (ftwayne.safe-families.org).
