Marjorie Eloise (Walters) Phillippe

Marjorie Eloise (Walters) Phillippe, 93, of Jonesboro, passed away at 4:45 am on Sunday, May 30, 2021, in her Jonesboro home. She was born in Sullivan, Indiana, on April 1, 1928, to Frank and Elsie (Johnson) Walters. She married Donald Eugene in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 2015.

Marjorie graduated from Sullivan High School and was a Line Worker at RCA. She was a member of New Life Community Church in Marion. Marjorie enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, attending church and solving crossword puzzles. She liked to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jimmy Swaggart on TV. Marjorie loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and liked playing cards with them. Marjorie and Donald have always been the heart of their family and they will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Deshazier of Marion and Judy (Bob) Coleman of OH; sons, Art Phillippe of Jonesboro, Kenneth (Kerin) Phillippe of Marion, and Gregory (Karen) Phillippe of TX; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nettie Stevens and Betty Street.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family will receive visitors from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner-Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor David Grieve officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park in Marion, IN.
