MARION,Indiana – A 47-year-old Marion woman is out of the Marion General Hospital after being admitted Wednesday night for an apparent drug overdose. Rebecca Sue Phillips was found unconscious in the restroom of McClure’s convenience store around 6:40 pm Wednesday by a store clerk. The clerk noticed that something might be wrong after after Phillips did not come out of the restroom after about an hour. The clerk opened the door to find a glass pipe burnt on both ends next to Phillips.

When paramedics arrived, they administered the opioid overdose-reversing drug Narcan to the woman who was then taken to the hospital for treatment. Marion Police Department Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey said that he believes Phillips was likely smoking illegal drugs and that there is enough evidence to at least request a warrant for possession of paraphernalia.
