Marion Police Respond to Armed Robbery

MARION, Ind. – On August 20, 2019 at approximately 11:31 am, Marion Police responded to the Friendly Market located at 1314 West 10th Street for an armed robbery.

Store Clerk, Joan Hill, age 56 reported that an older white male entered the store, approached the counter displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. Hill reported she complied

with the suspect’s demands and gave him an undisclosed amount of currency from the cash register. Hill reported that the suspect told her to go into the office and not to call the police for 10 minutes.

Hill reported that the suspect exited the store and was last seen eastbound on foot in the parking lot. Suspect Description: older, male/white, red hat, red t-shirt and blue jeans.
This is an Active Investigation.
