Marilyn K. O’Banion

Marilyn K. O’Banion, 83, Marion, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on September 24, 1940, to James and Donna (Dobson) O’Banion.  

She worked at Bolners Grist Mill for 30 years until retiring. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches and game shows. Marilyn always liked to know what was going on. More than anything, she loved her family. The family would like to say, “Thank you” to the Colonial Oaks staff for their love and care.

Survivors include her children, Keith O’Banion and Chad (Marie) O’Banion; grandchildren, Zachary O’Banion and Matthew O’Banion; step-grandchildren, Michael and Carolyn Morgan; step great-grandchild, Artcher Cornett; brother, Michael (Joyce) O’Banion; great- nephew, Ricky (Kelsi) Bosworth; great-great nephew, Harrison Bosworth; great-great niece, Magnolia Bosworth; and special niece, Donna (Randy) Berryhill along with several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Donna O’Banion; brothers, David Kroft, Max O’banion, Roger O’Banion; sisters, Judy (Ray) Norris and Carolyn (Doug) Bosworth; niece, Tami Bosworth; nephew, Rick Bosworth and Brian Hicks; and great-nephew, John Hicks.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Marilyn’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
