Marilyn Jean Eltzroth Stambaugh

Marilyn Jean Eltzroth Stambaugh, 84, of Peru, passed away at 2:24 A.M., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Peru on September 8, 1934, the daughter of Harold Henry and Mable Elizabeth Bechdol Eltzroth. Marilyn married Jack Stambaugh in Peru on September 27, 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1970. Marilyn graduated from Peru High School and was retired from United Tech. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge of Peru. Marilyn enjoyed reading, word puzzles and western movies. Marilyn would be the first to help anybody in need, but more than anything family, especially her grandchildren were her life’s heart. Surviving are her granddaughters Elizabeth Davis and her husband James of Peru and Jennifer K. Pacione and her husband Joshua of Huntington; great-grandchildren Brendon Haynes and Garret Haynes of Peru , Tyler Adams, Jordan Shake and Taylor Shake all of Huntington; and a brother Dean Eltzroth of Peru. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; sons Dennis and Kim Stambaugh and a daughter Sandra K. Norris; brother Mike Eltzroth; sisters Joan Eberle and Diana Nicely. A service celebrating the Marilyn Jean Stambaugh will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru with Deacon Charles Springer officiating. Burial will be at Santa Fe Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M., Saturday prior to the service at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
