Marilyn A. Thompson, 81, Peru, died at 4:45 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. She was born on January 15, 1935, to the late James Raymond and Helen Gertrude (Donahue) Taylor, Sr. She married James R. Thompson, Sr., in 1962, and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2015.

Marilyn worked at Marion’s RCA for 35 years. She was an avid NASCAR fan, animal lover, and fed the ducks that would come into her yard each day. She was blessed with a loving and large family and will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Cinnamon Thompson, Marion, Alicia Thompson, Marion, Alexis (Darion) Miller, Peru, James Thompson, III, Marion, Dillon Thompson, Marion, and Madeana Thompson, Hanover; 8 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Donna Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, preceding Marilyn in death were her son, James Thompson, Jr., and brother, James Taylor, Jr.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
