Marcia Kay Evans-Clark

Marcia Kay Evans-Clark, 80, of Marion, passed away at 6:00 am on Thursday, May 6, 2021, in her home. She was born in Marion on May 5, 1941, to Willie Simon and Loretta M. (Shoecraft) Evans.

Marcia graduated from Marion High School in 1960. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her employment at General Tire, Marcia worked at Bridges to Health in Marion and had been a dedicated foster mother for many years. She liked to play Bingo, especially with her sisters. More than anything, she cherished time spent with family and she will be missed dearly. “Miracle Marcia” will be remembered as a strong and motivated woman.

Survivors include her son, Karl Evans of Indianapolis; daughter, Lisa (Eric Ray) Sharp of Marion; grandsons, Karl Evans, Jr., Devante Evans, Vincent Sharp, Jr., and Evan Ray; granddaughter, Nia Kay Ray; great-grandchildren, Lyric, Jazyah, and De’soni; brother, Richard (Brenda) Evans of Indianapolis; sister, Elizabeth Ann (Eugene) Simmons of Marion; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian E. Evans; daughter, Patricia Clark; sister, Geraldine Cole; and brothers, Melvin Evans, Jerome Evans, and John Evans.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday, May 14, 2021, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Marcia’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Rev. C. L. Adams officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity in Marion.
