WABASH,Indiana — Wabash Police complete the 24 day campaign for dangerous and impaired driving. During the enhanced enforcement period fifteen citations were issued and ten criminal arrests were made. Of those arrests one felony arrest, five misdemeanor Operating While Intoxicated arrests, and four criminal misdemeanor arrests were made. Corporal Chad Galligan states “Dangerous and Impaired driving kills.” According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, on average more than 10,000 people die on U.S. roadways due to intoxicated driving. The Wabash City Police are one of 250 participating law enforcement agencies in Indiana. This extra enforcement is funded by the Federal Highway Safety Fund in conjunction with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
