Lyman “Joe” Preston, 85, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:35 pm, Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born October 16, 1935 in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Claude and Fannie (Davis) Preston.
Joe married Barbara Jean Hampton on December 25, 1954 in Paintsville Kentucky; she died August 4, 2019. He worked at GenCorp in Wabash, retiring after 34 years. Joe was a member and active volunteer at the Grace Fellowship Church in Wabash. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by two daughters, Diana (David) Tucker of Freeport, Florida, and Kimberly (Steve) Edris of Huntington, Indiana, two grandchildren, Trevor (Emily) Edris of Atlanta, Georgia, and Hannah Edris of West Palm Beach, Florida, and his brother, Herman (Ann ) Preston of Kendallville, Indiana. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Grace Fellowship Church, 4652 S 100 W, Wabash with Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Family requires masks be worn. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:30-2:00 pm Wednesday, at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
