Linda K. Utter, 71, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away April 19, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Fort Wayne,
Indiana. Born December 23, 1949 in Fulton County, Indiana, Linda was the daughter of the late Earl Devere and
Evelyn (Hopkins) Bucher.
After graduating from Manchester High School, Linda married Bryon T. Utter on October 2, 1970. The two were
married for forty-four and half years before Bryon passed away on July 1, 2015. They built a loving life together,
sharing it with their two daughters, Dawn and Kristie. For over forty years Linda was a staple in the North
Manchester Foundry office. During her time there she worked several positions and in 2013 retired as the head of
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Life was more than just work to Linda, though. She enjoyed her time
camping at Jellystone and excursions on a whim. She relished in spending time with friends at breakfast weekly.
Linda left a lasting impression on everyone she met, including the people with whom she worked, friends, strangers,
and the people with whom she attended church. She was generous to a fault and would give more than she had if
someone was in need. Linda was a mom to more than just her children and filled a gap for many, showing love and
faithfulness to anyone who was in need of help. Faith in the Lord was something that Linda was always proud of, and
she often helped people with encouraging words. She was brought up in her faith at Silver Creek Church of God,
Silver Lake, Indiana, where she and Bryon were married. Throughout her life, she remained faithful and strong in her
love for the Lord.
The loving memories of Linda K. Utter will be forever cherished by her daughters, Dawn (Matthew) Harding, Fort
Wayne, Indiana, and Kristie Utter, Silver Lake, Indiana; brothers, James Bucher, Akron, Indiana, Thomas (Shirley)
Bucher, Silver Lake, Indiana, and Elbie (Robin) Bucher, Sarasota, Florida; sister, Myra Wade, Marysville, California;
and grandchildren, Shayla Reed, Dwight France, Bryon Moore, Sadie Harding, and Curtis “C.J.” Harding. Linda was
preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Evelyn Bucher; and husband, Bryon T. Utter.
Family and friends may call Friday, April 23, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary,
1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at
10:00 a.m. with calling beginning at 9:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be
at Silver Creek Cemetery, 6504 West 1300 South, Silver Lake, Indiana.
