Laura J. Sutphin, 67, Marion, passed away at 2:08 am on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, in her home. She was born in Bradley Beach, New Jersey, on Wednesday, December 29, 1954, to Raymond and Betty (Froliche) Sutphin.
Laura graduated from Marion High School and worked in retail throughout her life. She was an avid Pyrex collector and NASCAR enthusiast, with her favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt. Laura liked drinking coffee, especially Starbucks, and enjoyed going shopping. She was a feisty, loving, and determined woman who was a ray of sunshine to those in her life.
Survivors include her sons, Dusty (Tonya) Guy, Jr., of Marion and William “Billy” (Michelle) Guy of Marion; daughters, Kristi (Jack) Walker of Larwell and Cara Jones of Van, TX; grandsons, Christopher Walker, Dusty Guy, III, Bradan Guy, Trandyn Ayers, Michael Sluder, and Calon Ayers; granddaughters, Alisha (Allen) Jackson, Ashley Timmons, Amber Timmons, and Melandra (Todd) Clark; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Cathy) Sutphin, Dean (Suky) Binney, Benjamin (Linda) Sutphin, Jarod Sutphin, and Jeremy (Amanda) Sutphin; sister, Sandy Comire; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and good friends, Elizabeth (Larry) Jones.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond H. Sutphin; mother, Betty J. Boos; brother, Raymond H. Sutphin, Jr.; and her beloved dog, Papa.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Laura’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Wally Champion officiating.
