Larry Eugene Vetor, 80, North Manchester, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2023. Born on June 9, 1942, in North Manchester, Larry was the son of the late Jackson Walter and Erma Geraldine (Drudge) Vetor.
At the age of eighteen, Larry went to work for New York Central Railroad, which in later years became the Conrail Railroad. He had a strong work ethic and worked as a trackman, operator, and mechanic before retiring after over thirty years of service.
On July 30, 1960, Larry married the love of his life, Marilyn Kline. During their sixty-two years of marriage, the two were blessed with four children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Larry was a great example of what a family man should be. He had a strong faith in the Lord, provided for his family, supported their needs, celebrated their accomplishments, and was always there offering a helping hand. Larry was proud of each of his children and taught them what loyalty looked like and to be dedicated to their family.
In his free time Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on tractors and Wheel Horses. However, he most relished in attending his grandchildren’s events and supporting them. On Sundays, he and Marilyn could be found at New Life Baptist Church in Wabash, where they were members since 1994.
The loving memory of Larry Vetor will be forever cherished by his wife, Marilyn Vetor, North Manchester; sons, Jackson (Linda) Vetor, Portland, Tennessee, and Darrell (JoRetta) Vetor, Beaver Dam Lake; daughters, Patty (Robert) Gray, Wabash, and Sarah (Mathew) Jones, Wabash; brother, Jimmie (Mary) Vetor, Fairborn, Ohio; sister, Bonnie Clifford, Warsaw; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Dickie Vetor; and sister, Erma Lambert.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, West River Road, Andrews, Indiana.
