Larry Alan Harris

Larry Alan Harris, 75, of Gas City, passed away at 1:35 am on Saturday, January 9, 2021, in his home. He was born in Wells County, IN on April 10, 1945, to Junior and Gladys (Jorden) Harris. On January 10, 1989, he married Cordie Kay Bailey, and she preceded him in death on April 12, 2016.

After graduating high school, Larry served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked as a machinist for RCA, retiring in 2005.

Larry was a member of the Shriner’s. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked shooting pool in his younger years. Larry was an avid gun owner and was a life member of the NRA.

Survivors include his sons, Duane Alan (Tammie) Harris of Jonesboro, Charles Lee Goodpaster of Bluffton, and Michael Ellis Higgerson of Ozark, AL; grandsons, Kevin Harris, Josh Harris, Larry Harris, Niclas Goodpaster, Christopher Bilbrey, Michael Bilbrey and Jeffrey Cook; granddaughters, Amber Aguilar and Jostlyn Higgerson Bomhard; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Lana (Jim) Miller of Apple Valley, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Beulah Kay Bilbrey.

The family will receive visitors from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN, 46933.

The family will have a private service to celebrate Larry’s life with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Entombment will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
