This from the Kokomo Police Department: KOKOMO, IN- The Kokomo Police Department is pleased to announce the formal induction of one lateral police officer to our police department, Officer Chad Mooney. This induction ceremony will be held on Monday, August 24th, 2020 @ 10:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers of the City Building. Due to the current restrictions with respect to the COVID-19 situation, the ceremony will be private. The community can later view the ceremony on KGOV2.com and on the Kokomo Police Department Facebook page.
Officer Mooney was born in Peru, Indiana. His parents are Vickie Medley and Richard Mooney. He graduated from Peru High School in 2012 and graduated from Indiana University Kokomo in 2016 with a Bachelor in Science of Criminal Justice. While attending IU-K, Officer Mooney was accepted into the Indiana University Police Cadet Program and completed the program during the summer of 2015. He then worked as a police officer with the university until his graduation in May of 2016. In June of 2016, Officer Mooney was hired with the Peru Police Department where he served as a patrol officer for the last four years.Officer Mooney is married and has one 14-month-old daughter.
