Julianne M. Burge, age 53, of Roanoke and formerly of Kankakee, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday, March 18, 2016, at 6:16 PM at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, puzzles and being outdoors.
Julianne was born September 19, 1962 in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of Royal and Josephine (Bender) LaRocque. She graduated from East Ridge High School, Kankakee, in 1980. On June 10, 1985 she married her beloved husband of 30 years Michael Burge in Wisconsin and he survives in Roanoke. Also surviving are a daughter Jessica (Trent) Post of Fort Wayne, a son Matthew Burge of Roanoke, a step-son Michael Burge of Maryland, a step-daughter Megan Warthen of Bourbonnais, IL, a grandson Owen Post, 2 step-grandchildren Rylan Warthen and Gavin Warthen, a sister Karen (Jack) McClancy of Springfield, MO, and 2 brothers Edward (Mary) LaRocque of Valparaiso and Anthony LaRocque of Kankakee, IL.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 2:00 pm Memorial Service Wednesday, March 23 at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. Pastor Jim Halstead will officiate.
