Judith Marie Lane

Judith Marie Lane, “Judy”, as everyone knew her, was a good-hearted woman who would do what she could for others. She was born and raised in Van Buren. She had various jobs through the years, and then was a homemaker. She moved to Gas City with her husband and children in 1979 where she remained until entering the nursing home full-time last year.

She never met a stranger and was always kind to others. She enjoyed serving at New Hope Baptist Church where she was a member for 41 years. She loved to cook and bake and share with friends and family. She was most famous for her apple dumplings. Judy was a social butterfly who always made friends and freely loved people.

She was a widow of husband, Bud Lane to whom she was married for 30 years. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren

She is survived by her sons, Scot (Laura) Lane of Dacula, GA, grandson, Stephen (Ashley) Lane of Valdosta, GA, and their children, Aubrey and Evan; grandson, Joshua Lane stationed in Naples, Italy; son, John (Suzi) Lane of Gas City, and their children Bryce and Beau.

Along with her husband, she was also preceded by her parents, Glen E. and Eva Marie Luckey; and brother, Raymond Luckey.

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, IN.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel. Pastor Curtis Rhoadarmer will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory-Marion.
