Judith “Judy” Gochenour, 64, Marion, passed away in her home at 6:49 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was born in Marion on May 25, 1953, to the late Ralph and Wilma (Coats) Weirich. On August 28, 1976, Judy married Richard “Rick” Gochenour, and he survives.
Judy was a graduate of Marion High School and International Business College in Fort Wayne. She worked several years at Marion General Hospital, where she was a patient accounts representative. Being involved in the lives of her family members was very important to Judy. She loved her kids and grandkids and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. Judy was a simple lady who loved being home, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She was involved in children’s ministry and Vacation Bible School at her church.
She will be missed by her husband of 41 years, Rick; sons, Brian Gochenour and Andrew Gochenour, both from Marion; grandchildren, Gabrielle Denham and Brenden Gochenour; siblings, Stephan (Candi) Weirich, Mesa, Arizona, Susan Cole, Lebanon, Indiana, and William (Michaelene) Weirich, Marion; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive visitors from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017, with Pastor Eric Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
