Joanne L. Pyle, 84, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 11:45 a.m. at the Heritage of Huntington, Huntington, IN. .
Mrs. Pyle was born on September 16, 1932, in Huntington to Lawrence and Geraldine (Auker) Weber. Her parents preceded her in death.

Joanne graduated from Huntington Catholic High School. She was an Educational Assistant at Andrews School for 13 years. She also was the librarian at St. Mary School for 13 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. Joanne was also a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority for 64 years and was a recipient of the prestigious Teresa McAllister award in 2000. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #7, Forever Friends, a cub scout den mother and Chairman of Mothers March of Dimes. Joanne was also past President of the American Cancer Society, past President for Huntington Catholic High School Booster Club, and past President of the Huntington County Women’s Club. Joanne was an avid Notre Dame and Indianapolis 500 fan and she enjoyed attending all the sporting events for her kids and grandkids.

Joanne is survived by 5 sons, Alan Pyle, Huntington, IN; Mark (Sherie) Pyle, Kent (Ellen) Pyle, both of Fort Wayne, IN; Dean (Teri) Pyle, Joel (Paige) Pyle, both of Huntington, IN; three daughters, Joan (Tim) Watson, Walnut, IL; Lori (Tim) Guy, and Rise (Larry) Buzzard, both of Huntington, IN.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Lindsey Daniels, John Watson, Andrea Watson, Michael Watson, Alicia Pyle, Taylor Pyle, Colin Pyle, Evan Pyle, Dustin DuPriest, Jennifer DuPriest, Adam Pyle, Amanda Koschmann, Alexandra Rosenfeld, Ryan Pyle, Max Pyle, Helena Pyle; 11 great grandchildren, and 5 step-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Additional calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017, prior to the Mass from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St, Huntington with Fr. Stephen Colchin presiding.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Masses in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
