Jo Ella Timbs

Jo Ella Timbs, 90, Greentown, left this world to be with the Lord at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

Jo was born August 25, 1927, in Calhoun County, Alabama, to George Dewy and Sarah (Smelcher) Ford.

Jo married Howard Williamson in 1946.  They moved to Gas City in 1955 and raised two children.  After 30 years of marriage, Jo and Howard divorced.  Later, Jo married Winfred Timbs, until his passing in 1992.

Jo was a member of the Fairmount Baptist Church for more than 35 years.  She served as church moderator and missionary society president until her health began to decline.  She was a member of the Fairmount Eastern Star and served as a worthy matron.

Jo enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and watching football and baseball.  According to her grandchildren, she was a good grandma.

Jo is survived by her children, Bruce (Jean) Williamson and Gaye Stuttle; stepchildren, William Timbs and Beverly Richardson; brother, John Ford, AL; grandchildren, Christian (Kristina) Williamson, Brent Williamson, Alicia Williamson, Brad Lawson, and Lacy Kenner, along with eight great-grandchildren.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother Leroy Ford, stepson Rick Timbs, and son-in-law Merrill Stuttle.

Arrangements for Jo have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services Fairmount Chapel, where a visitation will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Todd Graham officiating.  Burial will take place at Park Cemetery.
