Jerry Dee Warnock

Jerry Dee Warnock, 85, of rural North Manchester, Indiana, died at 7:32 am, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Parkview Wabash Hospital.  He was born on August 22, 1938, in Marion, Indiana, to Robert and Reba (Maggart) Warnock, and grew up in Howard County, Indiana.
Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Eastern High School and played on the sectional winning basketball team of Howard County.  He served as Secretary-Treasurer of Maggart Pontiac Cadillac for many years with his uncle, Don Maggart. He married Janet Hubbard in Amboy, Indiana on September 28, 1958, and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at the Honeywell Center with their family. Jerry enjoyed spending summers at Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana with his grandchildren. Seeing his great grandchildren enjoy the water at their home on Long Lake was pure joy to him. Jerry was an avid IU Basketball fan during the Knight era and enjoyed attending the games over the years. He was a member of the Urbana Yoke Parish, where he served on the church board and took care of the lawn for many years. 
He is survived by his wife, Janet Warnock of North Manchester; three children, Debbie (Jeff) Lauman of Tyler, Texas, Jeff (Rena’) Warnock and Kevin Warnock, both of Urbana, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Platt of Tyler, Texas, Mark (Kira) Lauman of Longmont, Colorado, Stephanie Warnock of North Manchester, Jason (Jennie) Warnock and Jeremy (Mikki) Warnock, both of Urbana, Indiana, Jeremy Parson of Wabash, Brandon Warnock of North Manchester, and Chasity (Tim) Milliner of Somerset, Indiana; twelve great grandchildren, Emma, Jerrick, Landree, Annisten and Wade Warnock, Joshua, Micah, Samuel and Jeremiah Platt, Cory Parson, Caidence and Ava Milliner, and a new little Lauman boy due the end of January; and his sister, Sharon (Harold) Harvey of Greentown, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:30 am, Monday, January 15, 2024, at Urbana Yoke Parish, State Road 13, Urbana, with Pastor Chris Brock officiating. Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in Converse Cemetery, Converse, Indiana.  
Preferred memorial is Urbana Yoke Parish.
