JEAN Team Drug Task Force makes multiple arrests

MARION, IN- On August 3rd, 2022, the JEAN Team Drug Task Force, assisted by Marion Police Department, Indiana State Police, Howard County Sheriff’s Department and Grant County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed leaving 2225 S Adams Street in Marion.

Ronald Bronson was arrested from the traffic stop on a felony warrant from Howard County. Johnny Prater was driving the vehicle. 7.2 ounces of methamphetamine and a handgun were located in the vehicle. A search warrant was granted for 2225 S Adams St. The Marion Police Department Emergency Response Team (ERT) secured the residence for the warrant. April Prater was detained at the residence and transported to the Marion Police Department.

Upon searching the residence one package of methamphetamine weighing 1.7 ounces, one package of methamphetamine weighing 1.14 lbs, 17 firearms, packaging materials and paraphernalia were located. Johnny Prater was taken to the Grant County jail and charged with dealing methamphetamine (level 2 felony), possession of methamphetamine (level 3 felony), possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon (level 4 felony) unlawful carrying of a handgun (level 5 felony) and maintaining a common nuisance (level 6 felony). April Prater was also taken to the Grant County Jail and charged with possession of methamphetamine (level 3 felony), maintaining a common nuisance (level 6 felony) and possession of paraphernalia (C misdemeanor).
