James A. Jones, 83, Gas City, passed away at 8:30 pm on Monday, May 31, 2021. He was born in Gas City, Indiana, on Tuesday, August 10, 1937, to Clarence and Orpha (Duncan) Jones.
James worked for Glass Containers in Gas City and Kreager Brothers Excavating, retiring in 1998.
Survivors include his sons, Gary (Susan) Jones of Yoder, Jack (Janet) Jones of Marion, Terry (Carol) Jones of Jonesboro, Rich Jones of Marion; daughters, Nicole Comer, Erin Bowman, Amber Lutton, Larita Vetor; grandchildren, Aimee (Rick) Marroni, Sara (Keith) Koon, David (Sarah) Stambaugh, Brian (Shannon) Stambaugh, Chenoah Jones, Clint Jones, Ashley Jones, Brittany Lautzenaeiser; great-grandchildren, Alivea, Harlei, Blazz’lee, Owen, Preston, Ava, Krista; special friend, Diane McHenry, and sisters, Colleen Kreager and Darlene Cornett.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Orpha Jones; son, Derek Comer; brothers, Jerry Jones, Larry Jones, Clarence Jones, Jackie Jones, and Danny Jones.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate James’s life will begin at 3:00 pm with Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
