Jacqueline “Jackie” Sue Williams

Our beautiful Jacqueline “Jackie” Sue Williams, 80, entered into the precious arms of Jesus on June 17, 2018.  She was born January 7, 1938, in Mitchell, Indiana, to the late Richard and Margaret Dodson. After graduating from Royerton High School in 1956, she attended Ball State University where she earned a Secretarial Certificate.  Jackie married the love of her life, David Williams, on June 12, 1960. The two recently celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage.  Among the many things David will miss, was her ability to see God working for good in all situations.

Her two children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren were the light of her life.  Between ball games for the grandkids, after school activities, and caring for friends and strangers, Jackie was always serving others.  Never drawing attention to herself, she tirelessly went about it with gentleness and joy.  She would drop anything to help someone in need.  Jackie was a servant in every respect, a giver, not a taker, and selfless in every situation. To have her in our lives made us all better people.  There is great rejoicing in Heaven today, as one of the true saints has come home.

Left to cherish Jackie’s memory are: her husband, David Williams; daughter, Rachel (John) Singer, Upland; son, Jonathan (Tamra) Williams, Rancho Santa Fe, CA; sister, Sharon (Mike) Woodruff, Yorktown; eight grandchildren: Crystal (Kyle) Gingrich, Johnny Singer, Joshua Singer, April (Jon) Hirst, Jacob Singer, Sierra Singer, Justin Singer, Shauna Singer; six great-children: Kinsey, Cali, Gage, and Kassidy Gingrich, Hayden Singer, Logan Singer, and number seven on the way; as well as extended family, friends new and old, and the many others who affectionately called her “Grandma Jackie”.

Friends and family may call between 9:30am and 11:30am on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Upland Community Church, 439 W. Berry St., Upland, Indiana 46989.  The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Mark Biehl officiating.  The burial will follow at Matthews Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Jones-Smith Chapel.
