Jack M. “Sport” Wilson

Jack M. “Sport” Wilson, 87, passed away September 13, 2017 in Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana. He was born on January 7, 1930 to the late Theodore and Mildred (Siders) Wilson in Marion, Indiana.

Jack graduated from Marion High School in 1950. He joined the United States Army and served from 1951-1953. On June 13, 1986 Jack married Susan (Clements) Hackworth. Mrs. Wilson survives. Jack was employed for many years with Matthews Buick and Howard Chrysler. He and his wife Susan owned Wilson’s Bottle Shop in Fairmount, Indiana for twenty-four years. Tennis was a large part of Jack’s life and over the years he won several tournaments. The date of the thirteenth was very significant to Jack and it should be noted that on that date he passed away.

Jack is survived by his step sons, Jan (Lisa) Hackworth; James Hackworth; step-grandsons, Dakotah (Amber) Hackworth, Kasey Hackworth, Jeremy (Leah) Hackworth, Jonathan Hackworth; step-granddaughters, Christy (Jarod) Snover, Kalie Hackworth; step-great-grandchildren, Addyson, Aubrey, Axl, Ava, June; daughter, Jill Hunter; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Barb Clements.

Also preceding him in death are his sister, Judy MacDonald; stepson Jeffrey Hackworth.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 1283, Marion, Indiana 46952.

In accordance with Jack’s wishes there will be no services. Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana, was entrusted with the arrangements.
