ISP Maj. Ed Schroder Recognized for 1.1 Million Safe Driving Miles

CASS COUNTY, Ind. – Recently, Indiana State Police Maj. Ed Schroder was recognized for 1.1 million safe driving miles with the Indiana State Police Department. Schroder was presented a certificate and a uniform pin honoring his accomplishment. Schroder is currently the north zone commander for the Indiana State Police. The ISP north zone consist of the Indiana State Police posts at Lowell, Lafayette, Peru, Toll Road, Fort Wayne and Bremen. Schroder oversees about 350 police and civilian personnel who work from those posts, according to a news release from the ISP. Before his promotion to major, Schroder served about 12 years as the captain of the Indiana State Polices Area I, comprising the ISP posts at Peru, Lafayette and Lowell. Schroder began his career in December of 1987 at the Indiana State Police Peru District, patrolling primarily in Cass County. Troopers are recognized for crash-free miles at 50,000, 150,000, 250,000, 350,000, and 500,000 intervals. Troopers are then recognized at 100,000 mile intervals after the initial 500,000 miles safely driven.
