Helen Rose Broyles

Helen Rose Broyles, 94, of Fairmount, Indiana died Friday, July 20, 2018 at Marion Rehabilitation and Assisted Living.

Helen was born on April 14, 1924 in Dover, Ohio, daughter of the late Jacob and Julia (Hochdorf) Linzenbold. Helen came to Indiana from Pennsylvania as a war bride in 1946 when she married Leo C. Broyles. Leo preceded her in death on April 7, 2015. When her three sons where in school she took a position at Hedstrom Hi Fi in Marion. In 1960 she was the owner and it became “The Hi Fi Stereo Shop”. There she enjoyed meeting customers that were as diverse as the styles of music on the shop’s records. She regarded her customers as an extended family and it gave her joy. The Hi Fi Stereo Shop was open from 1960 thru 2016. A testament to her dedication to share music and friendship. Helen was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was as fine a mother as a fellow could have and will be sorely missed by her three sons; James and David Broyles both of Fairmount, and Charles Broyles, Sunnyvale, California. Along with brother, Ronald (Donna) Linzebold, sisters, Doloris (Gary) Bergerson, Austin, TX and Jenny Dillman and several nieces and nephews.
