Harry A. Henchon


Harry A. Henchon, 72, Marion, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020, in Marion, IN. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, October 14, 1948, to Martin and Ida “Maxine” (Wright) Henchon.

Harry graduated from Marion High School in 1967. He worked for General Motors for 37 years until retiring in 2006. Harry enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, snow and water skiing, and time with his family. Harry is most remembered for his generosity and kindness toward all, as well as his sense of humor, laughter, outgoing personality and smile. Harry was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend to all.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Bowman) Henchon; son, David (Jayme) Henchon of Carmel; daughter, Christy (Brett) Lebo of Noblesville; son, Brian (Courtney) Henchon of Lafayette; step-daughters, Holly Goodpaster of Georgetown, OH, Heather (Foster) Raypole of Piqua, OH; grandchildren, Kyle Henchon, Hadley Henchon, Josie Whitton, Cali Whitton, Mia Lebo, Kaleb Lebo, Brady Henchon, Drew Henchon, Jared Henchon, Luke Henchon, Tyler Goodpaster, and Joshua Jones; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Evans, Jaxon Evans, Khevaya Goodpaster, Markus Goodpaster, and Joziah Goodpaster; brother, Marty (Jan) Henchon; sister, Marilyn (Terry) Wittkamper; sister-in-law, Debbie Henchon; and several extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Maxine Henchon; brother, William “Bill” Henchon; granddaughter, Harper Henchon; and great-grandchild, Baby T. Goodpaster.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Harry’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
