Gloria Jean “Jeanie” Wilson

Gloria Jean “Jeanie” Wilson 83, of Peru, IN passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the comfort of her own home.

She was born on July 22, 1940, to Delbert and Zelma Mize. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald Wilson, her sister Patricia Sparks, and her loving daughter Candy Boonstra.

She is survived by her brother George Mize, and two sisters Debbie Davis and Susie Hewit, her son Keith Swavey Jr. who she prayed for continuously, her loving grandchildren Nick Boonstra, Mellisa Boonstra, Michael Swavey, Mathew Swavey, Joshua Swavey, Bradley Randle and Kurtis Mahoney. She also had 14 great grandchildren that she loved very much.

Jeanie was one of the most kind, caring, giving, empathetic, and compassionate people you could ever meet. She loved spending time with her family and reading the Bible to people and preaching the good word to anyone that would listen. She loved shopping and thrifting for the best deals, only to give her great deals away to others in need. She loved to talk to everyone; she could talk for days about anything. It did not matter how people treated her, she would always treat them back with love and compassion, she was a true role model for all those around her.

The burial ceremony will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery on March 8, 2024, at 12 pm where her remains will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Ronald Wilson. Following the Burial there will be a Celebration of Life at the Riverview Event Center located at 421 West Canal Street in Peru, IN from 2-5 PM. There will be food and drinks available for anyone that would like to join and share good memories of her life with us.

If anyone would like to make a donation, please donate to your local church in her honor. Funeral expenses have been covered and Jeanie would have rather had you help your church. Praise God!
