Glenn Roger Strasser

Glenn Roger Strasser, 83, Twelve Mile, Indiana, passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.

Born March 2, 1935, in Burnettsville, Indiana, he was the son of Fred and Geraldine Strasser.  He was married on March 17, 1956, at the home of the late Rev. Gilbert Maus, near Twelve Mile, to the former Elsie L. Helms.

He was a member of Corinth Brethren Church, Twelve Mile, where he served as a youth leader and had been Church Moderator.  He volunteered his time over the years as a 4-H leader.

He graduated from Twelve Mile High School in 1953 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Manchester College.  Over the years he worked several different jobs: clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad, teacher at South Caston, controller for Peru Federal Savings & Loan, insurance agent with Indiana Farm Bureau, general office manager for Fulton Industries, route salesman for Schwan’s and Scott Family Farms, and driver for Mike Anderson’s.  He had also worked at Delphi Savings and Loan, Othy in Warsaw, and Superior Sample in Rochester.

Survivors include his wife of over sixty-years, Elsie Strasser; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Tim Cowell; and his three beloved grandsons, Seth, Zac, and Tayt Cowell, all of Twelve Mile; one brother, Tim (Jill) Strasser, Fulton; several nieces and nephews, three sisters-in-law, Martha Strasser, Georgia; Mary Gallahan, Peru; and Lois Bowers, Rochester; and two brothers-in-law, Mike Parker, Logansport; and Hollis Helms, Logansport.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, baby Toby Cowell; two brothers, Dale and Jim Strasser; and one sister, Dixie Parker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Cole Westwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Visitation will be from 2-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to their Twelve Mile neighbors and his special coffee buddies for their love, care, and friendship that Roger appreciated so much.
