George “Mark” Weaver

George “Mark” Weaver, 68, of Marion, passed away at 8:30 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, August 6, 1953, to George L. and Georgeanna (Mark) Weaver. On November 1, 2022, he married Jayne Rubright, who survives. 

George graduated from Oak Hill High School and worked at General Motors as a Journeyman/Stationary Engineer until his retirement. 

George was kind, loving, and gentle. He was always a hard-working man, who could fix practically anything. He helped family and friends in any way he could no matter the distance. George loved working with heavy equipment, working in the sunshine, and moving the soil. He was also a talented builder, welder, and metal forger. He was rarely seen without his green coveralls. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Jayne; son, Mark (Arielle) Weaver; daughters, Lisa Weaver and Misty Thorne; step-son, Nicholas Sanders; step-daughter, Sally Lawrence; “adoptive” sons, Eric Fisher and Todd Burnside; granddaughters, Ashlyn, Eden, Karley, Jayden, Kylee, and Brooklyn; grandsons, Andru, Ethan, Dylan, and Hudson; “angels in heaven”, Jacob and Jordan; “adoptive” grandson, Collin; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; beloved Great Dane, Hope; and cats, Sunny and Baby. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Jacob and Jordan; and sister, Sarah Ann McMillen. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Marion Health, Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, and Miller’s Merry Manor. 

A date and time will be announced later regarding a gathering to celebrate George’s life.
