George H. White, Jr.

George H. White, Jr., 86, Marion, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 1:38 am on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo after an extended illness. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Wednesday, June 23, 1937, to the late George and Delight (Sweetser) White. On April 13, 1956, he married Judy Drifmeyer, and she survives.  

George graduated from Marion High School in 1955. He was the founder/owner of Excel Auto Body from 1959 to 2006 when he sold his business to his son, Tom. He was the President of the Automotive Services Association (ASA); Advisory Board President Tucker Career Center; President of Hoosier Palomino Association (HPA); and a member of the Grant County Bass Anglers. He was an avid bass fisherman and competed in many bass tournaments with his “bonus” son, Jeff Collins.

Survivors include his wife, Judy White of Marion; sons, Brad (Tonja) White and Tom (girlfriend Mandy Fleetwood) White; daughter, Debbie (Jay) Bush; grandchildren, Taylor White, Sydney (Zack) Gabriel, Brandon (Kailyn) White, Cody White, Kyliegh White, Haley (Trey) Filbrun, and Lauren (Adam) Shanks; and great-grandchildren, Lakely, Nora, and Christian White.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Delight White, Sr., and sister, Mary Ann Edmonds.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate George’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Timmons officiating.  Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
