George F. Brewer, Sr., 77, Marion, passed away in his home on Saturday, March 6, 2021. A lifelong resident of Marion, George was born on July 28, 1943, to Charles and Vera (Durbin) Brewer.
George was a graduate of Mississinewa High School. He married Janice Mathias on February 16, 1964, and she passed away in 2005. He worked at GM for 37 years, where he was a journeyman. On December 2, 2006, he married Debra Miller, and they both retired from GM two days prior on November 30, 2006.
He was a member of the Conservation Club in Van Buren, Sympathy Club, and 9th Street Hot Rod Club. George was a true craftsman and loved working on old cars. He was always doing something for somebody. George was also a world traveler and loved to travel with his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Brewer of Marion; sons, George Brewer, Jr., Donald (Terri) Brewer, and Randy (Heather) Brewer; step-daughter, Yulonda Miller; step-son, Eddy (Teresa) Miller; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Samual D. Brewer; uncle, George W. Brewer; and grandson, Bobby Young.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate George’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
