Gary M. “Halvy” Halverson, 54, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 4:10 pm, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at his home. He was born July 26, 1963 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Warren and Mary (Mahoney) Halverson.
Halvy was a 1982 graduate of Wabash High School. He married Karen Thompson at the Wabash Friends Church on February 21, 2004. He worked 23 years at Bulldog Battery in Wabash. Halvy was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 15, the Elks Lodge #471, Eagles Lodge #549, and a former member of the Moose Lodge, all of Wabash. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, going on road trips. and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Halverson; mother, Mary Halverson; and three brothers, David Halverson, Jamie (Debbie Harden) Halverson, and John Halverson, all of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Halverson, two brothers, Paul and Bill Halverson, and two sisters, Colleen Mitting and Laurie Bailey.
There will be a Celebration of Halvy’s Life, at 7:00 pm Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Elks Lodge, 225 W. Main Street, Wabash. Family will receive friends from 6-7pm Saturday June 23 at the Elks Lodge. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
Preferred memorials are Parkview Hospice or Wabash County Cancer Society.
