Gary D. Bailey, 70, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Marion Health. He was born in Logan, West Virginia, on January 18, 1952, to Donis and Betty (Young) Bailey.
Gary graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia, and married Edith Burton on December 16, 1978. He attended Marion Memorial Tabernacle and Friendship Baptist Church and was a previous member of Jefferson Christian Church.
Gary enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, chess, reading, and playing games. In his younger years, he also enjoyed ceramics. He had the complete series of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mystery books. He and Edith loved going out and having meals together, as well as taking drives through the country.
All of his life, Gary loved the Lord, loved church, and loved his family.
In addition to his loving wife, Gary is survived by his siblings, Gregory Lynn Bailey of OH, Gwendolyn Carol Bailey of OH, and Mary Annette Sherman of OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Melody Bailey; and his brother, Timothy Bailey.
At the family’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
