Fred G. Napier, 83, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 9:50 pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Parkview Wabash Hospital. He was born on August 11, 1939, in Harlan, Kentucky, to Jerry and Sally (Hall) Napier.
Fred married Billie Lou Branson in Peru, Indiana on July 5, 1966; she died July 25, 2013. He worked at General Tire in Wabash 13 years and also worked at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester 18 years, retiring in 2002. Fred was a member of the Jalapa Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed tinkering on and repairing lawnmowers, fishing, and Facebook. .
He is survived by five children, Charles (Kim) Napier of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Harold (Krystal) Napier of Wabash, Indiana, Lavonne (Bill) Garland and Jerry Napier, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Freddie (Diane) Napier of Coldwater, Michigan; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; and his sister, Ruth Jones of Nashville, Tennessee. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 3-7 pm Monday, at the funeral home.
