Frances O. (Pulliam) Rupert, 83, Marion, passed away in her home on Sunday, December 17, 2023. She was born in Houston, Mississippi, on June 18, 1940, to Willie and Phoebe (Kilgore) Pulliam. On September 9, 1961, she married the love of her life, Willie F. Rupert, and he survives. Willie and Frances have celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Frances graduated from Houston High School. She was a member of and loved attending Woodland Hills Church of Christ. She worked at General Tire and Marion Community Schools, and she was an outstanding seamstress. She loved sewing, cooking, and singing. Frances will also be remembered as a loving wife and mother who loved taking care of her family. She was always smiling and was a kind woman who even received the nickname, “sweet girl”.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Rupert; children, Patricia Clemons and Keith Rupert; grandchildren, Nikkesha Davenport Rupert, Tyler Clemons, and Keith Rupert, Jr.; great-grandson, Kemoni Rupert; sister, Willa Ray Maxwell of Bronx, NY; special family members, Larry Rankin and Reggie E. Nevels, Sr.; and a host of cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Pulliam and Al Pulliam; and sister, Virginia Myles.
A service to celebrate Frances’ life will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10:00 am at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. with Rev. Stanford Bolden officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
