MARION,Indiana — Well there has been another fight in a Marion school resulting in one student being sent to the nurse’s station and the other one being carted off to the Grant County Juvenile Detention Center.  The aggressive altercation reportedly resulted over a video posted on social media.  Police were called by Principal Dawn Morgan of McCulloch Junior High School around 9 Tuesday morning after a fight between two eighth grade girls.  The aggressor approached the victim in the second floor girl’s bathroom wanting to fight over a social media posting.

The victim told the other girl she did not want to fight and left the restroom and went to a study hall on the third floor of the school.  Not satisfied with what happened, the aggressive eighth grader tracked down the victim in the study hall and again attempted to engage her.  Police say, in front of witnesses the juvenile attacked the victim grabbing her by the hair, pulling her backwards, striking her head against a desk, a refrigerator and then the floor.  According to police, she was also kicked in the head while on the floor. The victim told police she lost consciousness for about two minutes.

Marion Police caught up with the injured girl at the nurse’s station.  The victim had an ice pack on the back of her head, and was lethargic when spoken to and had bruising on the left side of her face and forehead; officers said she originally complained of being dizzy.

The aggressive 8th grade juvenile is facing charges of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury.

These teenage shenanigans have some adults believing some of today’s youth take “social media” way too seriously.
