FAIRMOUNT, Ind. – On May 25th, 2017 at approximately 4:49pm Officers of the Fairmount Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of South Factory Street in reference to a male subject being struck by a train. Officers located a 13-year-old male of Fairmount, Indiana who was later pronounced deceased at the scene. This incident is still under investigation at this time.
The Fairmount Police Department was assisted by the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Norfolk Southern Rail Road Police Department, Grant County EMS, and Fairmount Fire Department.
