Etta Mae Nicholson, 85, of Marion, passed away at 12:07 am on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, on Monday, May 21, 1934, to Alexander and Julia (Jones) Proffitt. She married Marion Preston Davis and then married Daniel Nicholson, who preceded her in death on February 10, 1998.
Etta was a homemaker throughout her life, who faithfully served her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed bowling, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing Bingo.
Survivors include her sons, Timothy Ursiny Davis of McComb, OH, Thomas Clayton (Denise) Davis of New Richmond, OH, and Alex Carlton (Julie) Davis of Cincinnati, OH; daughters, Wanetta Kay (Harry) Crawford of Mendenhall, MS, and Teri Rena (Mark) Thomas of Amelia, OH; step-sons, Keith (Rose) Carlisle of Kokomo, Rex Earl (Vanessa) Proffitt of Tipton, Larry Michael Davis of Louisville, KY, and Richard Preston (Diane) Davis of Crescent Springs, KY; step-daughter, Carol Ann Leslie of Cincinnati, OH; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
At Etta’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
