Emily M. Teusch

Emily M. Teusch, age 38, of Huntington, died at 1:17 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 1000 Flaxmill Road, Huntington, with Reverend Dr. Marti Lundy and Rev. Brittney Stephan officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Emily was born on May 13, 1980 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of John M. and Nondus E. (Fuhrman) Christman. She graduated from Huntington North High School in 1998. In 2003, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne. She married Patrick C. Teusch on October 25, 2003 in Huntington. Emily taught for the Huntington County Community School Corporation at Lincoln Elementary and was named 2017 Teacher of the Year; she also appeared on the Indiana Department of Education list of the top 25 teachers in the state. She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church and a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority Phi Chapter. She was an avid reader and she loved shopping and taking vacations. She loved playing the piano and working with children was her passion.

Surviving in Huntington are her husband, Patrick C. Teusch, children Corbin D. Teusch, Kealey B. Teusch, and Cooper M. Teusch, her parents, John M. and Nondus E. Christman, a grandmother, Shirley L. Fuhrman, and her in-laws, David G. and Miretta Teusch. She is also survived by a brother, Matthew L. (Christina) Christman of Gas City, sisters Lauren E. (Eric) Till of Roanoke and Allison M. (Jon) Voght of Warren, and several nieces and nephews.
