Elwood Wampner 93 of Marion, Indiana died Friday July 20, 2018 at the Colonial Oaks Healthcare Center, Marion, Indiana.
Elwood was born in Huntington County, Indiana to Tracy and Edith (Coffelt) Wampner on December 29, 1924. As a young man, he worked with his father at the sawmill and on the family farm in Marion.
He married Joyce Marilyn Rose on June 30th, 1945 in Marion, Indiana and she survives, they recently celebrated 73 years of marriage.
Elwood was a very hard working man, often working 2 jobs, always concerned for the welfare of his family making sure all their needs were met. He was always willing to help others. While working at Alloy Products, he built a home for his family and assisted two of his brothers in building their homes, we worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1989. Retirement years were spent enjoying his family and traveling when possible.
He was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church in Marion, a member of the UAW Local 977 and the CPC Sympathy Club.

Judi (Hollis) Harris Marion, IN whom Elwood considered to be like a daughter.

Funeral services for Elwood will be Wednesday July 25, 2018 at 12:30 PM at College Park Chapel Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana with Pastors Mick Simpkins and Jim Sexton officiating, burial will be at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday July 24, 2018 from 4-8 PM.
