Elvin Earl Myers

It is with great sadness, yet fond memory, that the family of Elvin Earl Myers announces his passing on Monday evening, July 30, 2018, after 86 years of life.

Elvin is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, and his children, sons Alan (Debby), Philip (Allyson) and Danny (Beth) and daughter Bobbi Charters (Dave), along with his sister, Fayetta McClain. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin (his twin), Maynard and Delmar. A veteran of the US Air Force, Elvin was blessed with 11 grandchildren — Kyle, Drew and Craig Charters; Nicole and Danny Myers, Tiffany Alexander and Kenneth Marks; Maleigha and Kaziah Myers; and Jaimee Burnett and Andy Myers— and 21 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life in memory of Elvin will be held from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Peru Church of the Brethren, 134 East 5th Street, Peru, where he was a member, with a service to follow, with Pastor Phil Cruea officiating.

A lover of sports — Go Cubs! — Elvin was a player for the Husky Harlan softball team and was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge, where he served as president from 1987-88.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Blair Ridge Life Enrichment Fund, with checks payable to the Trilogy Foundation at 269 Meadowview Dr., Peru, IN 46970.
