Elizabeth “Bea” Weesner, 98, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died at 3:30 am, Monday, May 9, 2022, at Georgetowne Place in Fort Wayne. She was born on October 7, 1923, in Columbia City, Indiana, to Gail R. and Iva L. (Bowers) Hidy.
Bea was a 1941 graduate of South Whitley High School. She married John W. Weesner in Leesville, Louisiana on February 14, 1944; he died December 1, 2012. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. Bea loved to read.
She is survived by her son, David (Pamela) Weesner of Fort Wayne, two grandsons, Nathan (Lorah) Weesner and Adam (Emily) Weesner, five great grandchildren Evan, John, Paxton, Greyson, and Evie Weesner, three step great grandchildren Milo, Noah, and Lincoln Loveless, two sisters, Phyllis Muzzillo of Florida, and Janice Frye of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and six sisters.
Graveside services and burial will be 1:30 pm, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main Street, North Manchester, Indiana.
Preferred memorials are Alzheimers Association or Eleos Hospice Care.
